Surgery

Sweet little Maxwell had his tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears.  He had obstructive sleep apnea and so many ear infections that I lost count, not to mention at least 3 ruptured ear drums.  Mind you, the kid is only 2!  Surgery was horrible.  Getting him to eat, drink and take medicine was impossible.  We had to stay one (almost two) days at the hospital because he wouldn't eat.  Those were the easier days because all he did was sleep.  Once we brought him home, it took over a week for him to start eating.  And it was from lack of trying.  We offered him everything under the moon!  He got really thin and his eyes and cheeks were sinking in.  THEN we took him off the pain meds from the dr. and put him on advil and voila! he was better.  Oops.  The hydrochordone must have been making him so sick to his tummy.  Now, a few weeks later, we have our Max back!  He is drinking 10 sippy cups of milk a day and the other day he ate 3 peanut butter and hone sandwiches, WHICH he has never liked in the past.  He eats like a champ and is gaining weight back which is a relief.  The best part is, he is pain free and SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!  A few days of hell, but it was worth it in the end!  Love you little buddy!
